まるまるのひみつ

最近近所のアジア系マーケットにカップ焼きそばが入荷されていて、驚きました。
沢山の韓国系の麺に囲まれて、あたかも「元からここにいます」みたいな雰囲気で陳列されていたんですけども、多分私はトロントに来てからは初めて見たと思います。びっくり！
５ドルなので、日本円で４８０円とか。値段としては日本で売ってるものの倍くらいですかね？
５ドルで焼きそばって、こっちの物価考えたら結構リーズナブルな感じもするんだけどね。それでも２ヶ月後なら日本で半額で買えると思うとなんか踏み切れない、微妙な塩梅です。
というか、こういうカップ焼きそばの湯切りシステム、面白いよね。
蓋の薄い部分だけ捲ると湯切り用の穴が出てくるの、作りとして天才だと思います。
パーシャルオープンって言うらしいよ。
個人的にこういう作り方が凝ってるものを見るのが面白くて仕方がなくって、とても好きなんです。
むか〜〜〜しカップヌードルミュージアムに行ったことがあるのですが、それもめちゃくちゃ楽しかったですね。
実はカップヌードルって中の麺がちょっと宙吊り状態で浮いてるって知ってました？
輸送中に麺が割れないための工夫らしいです。よく考えられてるよね。
ちなみに日本のカップヌードルはなぜか近場で売ってないんです。シンガポールにはあったのにね！
おかげで帰国すると食べたくなっちゃいます。
こういう話をすると、小学生の頃は日本語補習授業校の図書館においてあった、「まんがでよくわかる○○のひみつ」みたいな本をひたすら片っ端から読み耽っていたのを思い出します。
ちなみに、当時の私はそのシリーズのことは「まるまるの秘密」と言っていたんですけど、今調べたらまんがでよくわかるシリーズという名前がちゃんとついてました。ちょっと違ったね。ちょっとね。
流石に昔すぎてあまり詳しくは覚えてないのですが、確か元々は漫画が読みたかっただけで。
でも補習校の図書館に漫画が少なかったから読み始めたのが、いつの間にかこういう内容の作品が面白く感じるようになっていたような記憶です。
そうだとしたら、もしかして当時読んでた漫画の影響で化学や生物が好きになったのかなぁ。
みんなは小学生の頃好きだった本、覚えてますか？

Do you all remember which books you liked as a kid?
I have some that I particularly remember well about, and was wondering if the books had influenced me.
Of course, there are many books that I remember loving, like some mystery novels and light novels.
I was quite a bookwork and read both Japanese and English books all the time!
But the one I’m thinking about was this manga series explaining the “mystery” (or often, the science) behind a lot of things.
They had a ton of books in the series, ranging from the mystery behind money to pasta to the waterways.
I recall I loved the series and would always borrow one whenever I went to the library- which, back in primary school, was once a week, and every single week.
The question is, if I liked those books because I was interested in biology and chemistry, or because I wanted to read a manga and later got interested in science.
At this point, it’s been way too long since primary school to properly remember why I wanted to read those books.
On that note, I remember myself enjoying reading A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Maybe that says a little something about my personality, but it was in our school library, and my friend recommended it to me after I asked her what her favourite book was. So it’s more about her than me, or I’d like to think it that way.
It’s quite a gory book for a children’s novel, but it was interesting.
You know, reading those books made me firmly believe that signing a contract with my non-dominant hand would mean it was invalid.
I had to figure out like 10 years later that that scene would not apply in real life!
