I don’t have much. I guess to genuinely survive through this year.
Winter term is starting real soon though!
Hope I can go over to Canada soon.
I have a question to my English readers- are New Years greeting cards still in?
Japan has a similar culture of sending cards on New Years, but with social media being so accessible to everyone, the tradition is slowly, gradually fading.
Also because who knows everyone else’s home address?
It’s a beautiful tradition yeah, but sending letters are so much more fuss compared to sending a cute little text over.
So I wanted to ask, are those still in?
Talking interesting traditions, my house- that is, my mother’s side of the family tree including grandparents and cousins, we always get together for new years to eat fugu.
We do this almost every year but I don’t know why, because there’s no such tradition in Japan to eat fugu for New Years but we just do it. Does your family have odd traditions?
Oh yeah, fugu is the Japanese term for pufferfish.
That poisonous one.
Trust me!!! It’s super delicious if you eat the right parts!!!!
You need a whole degree or something to even clean and prepare the fish (because it’s super poisonous and dangerous), but it’s really good.
Also, why do we Japanese eat the weirdest things ever?
