Last week was probably the 2nd snow day of the season.
Maybe the 3rd. But nonetheless, there was barely any snow this season and it was really unexpected.
That day I woke up a little late and was going to be late that day so I was planning to run, but when I busted out my house entrance, there was snowfall! I was pretty surprised.
Oh, yeah I gave up and walked to campus. I value my life and wasn’t going to slip on the ice. I wasn’t late so it’s all good.
That day St. George campus was functioning like every other day, but I heard that the other University of Toronto campuses like Misisagua and Scarborough were closed for the day, due to the public transport being cancelled and everything. Which caused quite a bit of a problem.
A lot of people at our university take lectures across multiple campuses, and I heard from a professor some people got stuck on the other campuses and couldn’t make it to the lecture on St. George the next day, and vice versa some people had to come to St. George for lecture and couldn’t go home.
With so much snowfall every year, I would have thought our uni would have a better communication system between campuses, but I guess not.
Be careful everyone!
I saw on the news that there was snow in Japan too, due to a huge cold wave.
Cities like Tokyo which are not used to such weather experienced quite a bit of a shock, with incidents like water pipes freezing.
Other colder regions also experienced some really bad snowfall, and there was a lot going on in the news as a whole.
