チーズとクラッカー食べながら卒業式見てた。

おはようございます、ケイトです。
昨晩！！！
卒業式でした！！！！
とは言っても、そりゃあ外出禁止は続いてますし、従来のものとは違ったんですけど。
オンライン卒業式でした！！
いや〜、後にも先にもオンライン卒業式なんて聞いた事ないですね。
昨晩は事前録画された動画を学校がZoomで流して、卒業生全員で同時視聴しました。
１時間以上あって、これどんだけ編集に時間かかったんだろうなぁとびっくり。
一部合唱やバンドの演奏に関しては、YouTubeとかでもリモート○○とかのタイトルでありそうな編集っぷりで、感動と同時に「すごぉ」みたいな反応しちゃいましたね。みんなが各々家で演奏して歌っているのを撮影して、一つの動画にまとめるのって凄い大変そう。
他にも先生達からのメッセージ集とかもありました。日本語の先生が参加していなかったのに気づいて、先生らしすぎて爆笑。これが解釈一致というやつか。
確かに普通の卒業式もしたかったし、伝統のグランド・ウォーク（下級生達に囲まれて練り歩くイベント）とかプランク（最高学年が学校中にイタズラを仕掛けるイベント）とかも出来なくってとっても悔しいです。というか卒業式で着る予定だった着物がめちゃめちゃ可愛かったから楽しみにしてたのに、悲しいですが仕方がないですね。
何も無いよりはいいよねぇ。オンラインでも。

正直全然実感湧かないし、まだまだ高校生気分のままなんです。
またなんかイベントがない限り感情が追いついて来ない気がします。大学とかね。
でもとりあえず！今の所は！私のUWCSEA Eastでの３年間に終止符は打たれたはず（はず）ですね！
お疲れ様でした。よく頑張った私。IB最終試験なかったけど。
ちなみにブログは多分大学編へと続きます…
あとオンライン卒業式の利点は、だんだん飽きてくるお偉いさん達のありがたいお言葉をクラッカー食べながら聞き流してても誰にも怒られないことですね♡

Yesterday was it.
The graduation ceremony!!!
I mean, due to the COVID-19, it was an online graduation ceremony.
It was pre-recorded, edited and everything, then was played on a massive zoom presentation? call? with all the students.
The whole video was more than an hour-long, and I wonder how long it took to create the whole thing. Some parts, like the choir and band, were edited so carefully so all the players could be seen, solos up close, all on timing, and stuff like that. That must take so long to work with!
Of course, I always dreamt and wanted a “normal” graduation. I wanted to wear my national dress Kimono, I wanted to do the shaking-hands-and-receiving-certificate thing, the grand walk where grade12s walk around the school and all the lower grades, and the annual “prank day” where the grade 12s mess around with the whole school and prank around everywhere. I had plans with my friends for our graduation trip. We missed all that and were stuck at home, and ended with just an hour-long video. But things happen and sometimes, we can’t fight that. We have to go with it, whether we like it or not. And to think of the better, we did still have some sort of graduation. Better than nothing.
I still feel like a student, not alumni, and I will probably continue to feel slightly odd until things start moving again.
