冬支度
おはようございます。
どうもケイトです。
最近あまりにも忙しく色々とギリギリで、多少なら大丈夫だろうと思い睡眠時間を削っていたのですが、土曜日に入った瞬間に反動が来ました。
定例通りに１７時からのオンラインミーティングに間に合うようにと、16時半に起床したのですが、会議室にログインしてから目を一瞬閉じてしまい、気がついたらもう会議は終わって19時近くになっていました。
そこかしこで寝てしまう悪い癖は健在でしたね。
いくらなんでも机で寝るには長い時間だったと思いますが。
やらかしたので、とりあえずパワポと議事録を読み込んでおこうと思います。
会議ごとに議事録があるのは有難いんですけれどね。後から見返しやすいとは思っていたけれども。
こんなことで使う羽目になるとは。
いつも発言しているのに今回は一言も話さなかったの、何故なのかがメンバーにバレてないといいな…

話は変わりますが、ここ数日間やけにインスタにボストンの投稿が多いな…と思っていたらハッと気がついたのですが、ボストンキャリアフォーラム２０２３（通称ボスキャリ）は今週末の１７日から１９日までらしいです。
去年は行ったね！
ボストンの街のど真ん中を数千人の黒スーツひっつめ髪が闊歩しているの、中々に忘れられない光景でした。
面接入室時のノックは日系なら３回、外資系なら４回です。１１月で寒いからパンツスーツの方がいいです。
今年は私は不参加ですが、友達が何人か参戦しています。みんな上手くいくといいなぁ。
ふとボスキャリ前後の詳しい出来事が気になり去年の投稿を確認したら、今日から３６４日前の１１月２０日には結構な大雪が降っていたみたいです。
こういうのを確認できるのは楽しいですね。なんか文体とかが変わっていたりするのは少し気恥ずかしくもありますが。
去年は秋らしい天気から数日の間に急に冷え込み、あっという間に大雪が降った覚えがあるのですが、今年もそうなるのでしょうか。
今はまだ紅葉も少し残っていて、風は冷たくも秋らしい天気なのですが、またころっと雪が降り出しちゃうかもしれませんね。
急に雪で埋まった日のためにも、缶詰や日持ちする食料を用意しておかないと。
今日はブログを書き終えたら、スノーブーツを玄関に出しておこうと思います。
冬用のコートも圧縮袋から出して空気を入れておこう！！

Good morning, Kate here.
I’ve been quite busy recently and I’ve been cutting back on sleep to fit everything I need to do, thinking I could get away with it, but the moment it was Saturday, it hit me back.
I woke up at 16:30 to be ready for the online meeting at 17:00 as usual, but after logging into the meeting room, I closed my eyes for a second and BOOM, the next moment I realised it was almost 19:00 and the meeting was already over.
Gah, my bad habit of falling asleep all over the place was still alive and well.
Because that’s a long time to sleep at your desk.
My bad. Looking through the presentation and the meeting minutes right now to catch up…
On a different note, I was wondering why I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about Boston on Instagram over the past few days, and then I realised that the Boston Career Forum 2023 was this weekend, from the 17th to the 19th.
I went last year and it was an unforgettable sight to see thousands of Japanese people, all in black suits, everyone with their hair slicked back, in the middle of Boston.
I’m not participating this year, but some of my friends are going. I hope they all do well!
Whilst writing this I was suddenly curious about what was happening last year today, so I checked last year’s post and it seems that there was a pretty heavy snowfall on 20 November, 363 days before today.
It’s fun to be able to check these things.
I remember last year, it was just normal autumn weather when suddenly got really cold in a matter of days, and started snowing heavily in no time.
I wonder if it will be the same this year.
Right now there are still a few autumn leaves on the trees.
Maybe I’ll go to put my snow boots out on the front porch today though.
