最近日傘のありがたみを再認識しているケイトです。
日差しがすげ〜〜〜〜のさ！！！
まぁ渡航予定日までもう１ヶ月ぐらいしかないということでカナダに持っていくものを調べてるんですけど。
私はなんでかネットでのリサーチが下手くそなので難航してるんですよね…
例えば、ハンガーとか洗濯バサミ、ちょっとした手鏡とかも必要になると思うんだけど、そういう大きめの物は向こうで買うべきか持っていくべきか。
日本食を自炊するためには何を持って行って、向こうで買えるものはなんなのか。
一番必要になりそうな冬服は超かさばるから、スーツケースの容量的にも隔離中に必要なものだけ持っていって他は現地調達したいんですけどね。いつ自由に買い物に行けるか、どこに何が売ってるのか、ついでに言えば相場の値段も分からないから安く揃えたい。
あと毎年夏休みの４ヶ月の間に旅行やら帰国で家を出る（引っ越す）としたら、その都度荷物を全部スーツケースを収めないといけないし！
あまり新しい物も買えないんですよね。
うーん、ぶっつけ本番で長期留学、怖すぎ！
そういえばたまにコンビニとかに徒歩で行くと汗でデロデロになっちゃうんだけど、ずっとシンガポールに住んでたわりに「暑さ」に軟弱すぎない？１年余りでどうしたのよ私。
というか…こんなに暑いのに、なぜ日本の女性は基本的に髪を下ろしているのでしょうか。下ろせているのでしょうか。
首筋サウナにならないの？凄くない？おしゃれは我慢ってやつ？すごい忍耐力でしょ。

So I’m trying to plan out what to bring to Toronto and figuring out what I want to buy, but this is being a lot harder than I thought.
First of all, this is the first time I’ve done something of this kind- going to a faraway country, for an extended period with no plans on coming back anytime soon, with no experiences within that region.
The last time I was in boarding school (Marlborough College), it was in Malaysia- literally 1 or 2 hours away from Singapore- and I went back to my house almost weekly.
The other time I went to the US was only a 1-month long summer-school trip with housing and meal and everything already prepped out for students.
But this time, I need to go to Toronto for an expected 1 whole year, need to organise all housing and food and even quarantine plans by myself, and I’ve only ever been to Vancouver in terms of Canada- so have 0 clues on what to expect.
Do I need to bring stuff like hangers and mirrors?
They definitely would take up space in the suitcase, but I would need them as soon as I arrive and don’t want to wait till quarantine calms down to go out and buy stuff like that.
Side note, I just bought myself one of my favourite snacks and hid them away VERY excitedly into the fridge to eat it cold, just to find out my father had gobbled the whole thing away during the 1 hour I was away from the kitchen.
Why he always gotta be like that??????

ちなみにシンガポールはいつも暑過ぎてほぼずっと一本に結んでいたのですが、幼少期からポニーテールに魂を売っていたせいで「髪を下ろした状態での食事」がめちゃくちゃ苦手です。
基本的に髪が口に入りそうになるので。みんなよくそんな芸当できるよね。
