Hello everyone. Kate here.

This girl really needs to get out of the “Due tomorrow = Do tomorrow” mindset, but it sure isn’t going away any soon.
Send help.

So for a couple of months now, I’ve been on birth control pills due to my messed-up menstruation cycles. On another note, don’t you think the name “birth control” is misleading? It’s not only for controlling “birth”.

Well, the problem is, these pills are slightly- well, quite- annoying to get.

This is based on my experiences, by the way. It’s probably super different depending on where you are.
For the first few months, the doctor will only prescribe you 1 month worth of pills, so you need to get an appointment every month for a couple of consecutive months before they trust you and your body to be able to take it.
Of course, it’s for safety reasons; and makes total sense that the doctor needs to check up that the pills aren’t doing anything unexpected. It’s a strong medication that interacts with the body’s hormones and side effects can be drastic.
Like, have you seen the caution instruction papers that come along with the pills? That thing is a whole scientific report long.
But it’s still a burden to get appointments to the doctor and wait notoriously long queues every month.

ESPECIALLY if the doctor is far away from you.

AND hear me out!!
I just found out that the UofT Health and Wellness centre sells them!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can literally purchase birth control pills on campus.
That makes it so so much easier than going over to a faraway hospital every month.
So much easier access!!

I think the international kids on campus boarding dorms would definitely find this handy. Like possibly, me.
They also provide other things like vaccines, counselling, nutrition consultations and on.
Well, I’m already sure I’m going to end up in there sooner or later…
Not sure when I’d be able to go over to Canada, but as soon as I can, I’d hopefully be ready to go!
