トロント観光（３回目とか）
おはようございます。
どうもケイトです。
トロント観光してきたぞ〜〜！！
なんと私の親族がトロントまで来てくれたので、いつも自分が過ごしている大学周辺を紹介したり、観光スポットを巡ったりしてきました。
こういう機会でもないと、住んでる地域の観光なんてなかなか行かないのでね。
なんだかんだ遠くてずっと行ってなかったトロント大学の「ブックショップ」と呼ばれるグッズショップに行って、学校のロゴがデカすぎるパーカーを買ったり、野球好きの祖母と一緒にトロント・ブルージェイズの本拠地であるロジャーズ・センターという野球スタジアムを見たり、またスタジアムすぐそばのオンタリオ湖が見渡せる湾岸まで行って、「ビーバーテイル」というカナダの人気な揚げドーナツ屋さんに行ったり。
よく考えたらビーバーテイルはたったの半年ぶりでした。去年の１１月にも行ってたや。（当時の記事はこちら）
ということで２年ぶり、２０２１年に初めてトロントに来た時以来のナイアガラの滝へ行って参りました。
虹が綺麗！
全体的にちょっと雲の多い日だったんですけども、偶に陽が差してくれて、たまたまその時を写真に収めることが出来ました。
今回、私は成長する人間なので（過大評価）２年前の反省を活かし、鞄に塗り直すための日焼け止めや帽子、そしてナイアガラの滝壺すぐ側まで近づいてくれる大人気アトラクションナイアガラクルーズ（元・霧の乙女号）のびしょ濡れ対策で替えの靴下まで持参していきましたところ、全力でナイアガラクルーズを楽しむことが出来ました。
前回行ったときはまだまだコロナ禍真っ只中でマスク必須だったため、びしょ濡れになったマスクを必死に乾かしていたのですが、もうそんなことをする必要はなく。
２年前に比べて観光客も全然増えていて、なんだか嬉しくなりました。
２年も経てば世界情勢は変わるもんですね。
他にもずっと食べてみたいと思っていた、カナダで人気な「デイリークイーン」というアイス屋さんに行き、ブリザードと呼ばれるアイスを食したりなど、「せっかくこの機会に！」といったイベントを沢山楽しんできました。
歩き回りすぎて足がもげそうになりましたが、とても楽しかったです。
こうも遠くに住んでいると親族と旅行も中々行けないのでね、有難い機会でした。
あと…トロント観光は３日もあれば足りるな！！！ガハハ！！！

Some of my family members came over to visit Toronto, so I did another tour around the town!
I’m sure everyone would agree that you don’t really go to the touristy areas of your neighbourhood unless you’re new there yourself.
Like the Harbourfront, Beaver Tails, Rogers Centre, and those “major” places that are quite far from campus.
I usually don’t go to those areas either, which means it was also a very interesting time for me as well.
So I went to Niagara Falls!
It’s been a whole 2 years since I last went in 2021, when I first came to Toronto, so that was fun.
There were a lot of changes since last time, especially with how many people were there.
For example, last time we were still trying to figure out what to do with COVID, so borders were closed for many people, and even fewer people were going out all the way to sight-seeing at Niagara.
This meant the queues for everything were really short and we barely had to wait.
But this time, the Niagara Falls cruise was nearly a 1-hour queue!
Also last time, masks were mandatory on the Niagara Falls cruise, which meant my mask was drenched and I had to pull out a new one.
But this year they weren’t.
I did learn from my past mistakes and brought a spare pair of socks to change into though, which was definitely a good choice.
2 years feels short when you’re living through it, but to look at it this way, a lot has changed over these years.
Maybe this final year at the University of Toronto will feel even shorter!
