高身長ってどこからなんだろう

２週間のターム休みに入りました。
参考程度にリストしておくと、この期間のうちにやらないといけないことは
・EE（卒論）
・IA（化学のレポート）
・IA（生物のレポート）
・TOK Presentation（プレゼン用意）
・Essay（英語のエッセー）
そして大学のアプリケーションです。死ぬほど忙しくなりそうですね！！！
あと私の友達が３人くらい日本に行くそうです。なんでこのタイミングで遊べるほど余裕があるんでしょうか。

日本といえば、先週空きコマで図書館に居た時、小学生の頃から知り合いの日本人の友人にばったり会いました。（学年は１個下）。
ぐで〜っと座りながら「日本に行く予定のある子が多くて羨ましい、私も秋の日本に行きたい！」と言ったところ、彼女がボソッと言ったのです。
「休みに帰って日本の街中を歩いてると、ものすごく自分が浮いて感じる」と。
普通に歩いてるだけなのに見られたり、通りすがりの人が振り向いたりなどなどあるらしいです。
彼女は身長が高いからか（160後半くらいありそう）、多くの日本人女性よりかは頭一つほど上になっちゃうし。
バレエを長年やっていて痩せ型で、すら〜〜っとした子です。
なおさら目立つんじゃないかなぁ。
ちなみに私もその感覚あります。観光客気分というかなんというか。。。
半径１０メートル以内に前髪のない人間は私だけなんじゃないかという気持ち。（？）
私は160ギリジャストくらいなのですが、最近和僑会に行った時に自分が意外と身長が高くて驚いたんです。
５cmほどのヒールを履いていただけなのに、女性と話す時少し中腰にならないと声が聞こえないという事態。
確かに周りに話している人が多く、声が聞き取りづらかったのですが、それ以前に私がかがまないと全く聞こえなくって！！
学校では常に小さい〜普通くらいの身長なので、急に自分が高くなってしまい驚きました。
私の身長ですら会話に支障が出るのに、私の友人はもっと大変なんだろうなぁと。
そんなことをヤイヤイ言いながら図書館でだら〜〜〜っとしてました。チャンチャン。

Why am I here sitting at home crying at the work I have to do when so many of my friends are going to Japan right now??? How do they have their schedule sorted???? What????????
Talking about Japan, I just ran into my OOOOOOLD (like from 11 years ago) Japanese friend in school last week.
It was the last free block of the day, so we just sat down in the library and went on to talk about random things.
Like how being in Japan doesn't really feel like "home" after living in Singapore for forever, and how often people turn around and look at us when we are in Japan.
Honestly, I feel like a foreign tourist, walking on the roads of Tokyo.
Maybe it's because I'm literally the only one in sight who doesn't have bangs.
Or maybe it's because my 160cm height is somehow taller than most of the people in my sight.
It's weird, I thought I was short because in school I am in the ”small to medium height" zone.
I talk with Japanese people often when I go to Japan; quite a lot of the time, I'm nearly a head taller than them!
When I said that to my friend, she understood me- to an extent.
I mean, she's a head taller than me, she'd be 2 heads above many Japanese girls.
To add on to our outsider-like features, she does ballet and is very skinny, so no wonder she stands out.
