日本住みだったら高３のはずなんですよ

おはようございます！
最近やっとクレジットカードを作りました、ケイトです。

これはあれですね！社会的信用（ハッタリ）ができたって事ですね！！

正直もうちょっと簡単だと思ってたんですけど、銀行に行ってから家にカードが届くまでに合計で１ヶ月くらかかりました。
しかもこれが審査に時間がかかった訳じゃなくて、本社と話し合うやらなんちゃらで審査前の段階でなんですよね。

なんで？って思うでしょ？
これね、私の年齢が悪いみたいです☺️🎉🎉🎉

まさか「２００２年４月生まれ１８歳高校卒業済み」がそんなに問題になるとは思わなかったんだよ！！！！！！

要は…日本の学年システムですと、私はまだ高校３年生の年代なんです。
でもシンガポールで通っていた学校は４月じゃなくて９月に学年が始まるので、私自身はもう大学１年生なんです。
で、銀行のシステム的に高校生の間はカードを作るのが難しかったんですね。

だから私がもし高校生だった場合、審査以前に却下です、と。
おかげで計３回くらい「高校卒業されてるんですよね？？？」って確認の電話されたよ！！

世界は帰国子女に優しくないなぁもう…（確かにレアケースだから仕方がないけど）

ちなみにカードですが、そもそも投資を始めようかと思って運用用の口座を作ったんですよね。
でも蓋を開けていろいろ調べて見たところ、未成年口座の制限とかがめんどくさいのなんの…

色々スタートアップが難しいわね。気が遠くなるわ。実際ちょっと最近忘れてたわ。
というか投資ってどこから始めるんだろうか？？求：初心者へのアドバイス

I finally got myself a credit card for Japan!!!

Well, the story goes like this- I thought it would be so much easier to do the process, but it took about a month in whole from after I went to the bank till I got my card mailed to my house. For one sole reason.

My birthday is April, and I’m 18 years old, which would make me a high schooler-age in Japan!!
Gosh, I never thought this would cause so much fuss. But I guess it makes sense.
Unlike Singapore, where school starts in September, Japanese school years start from April.

This causes a weird overlap where I am an undergrad in the Western calendar, but still a high schooler age in Japan.
The problem with this is that Japan (or that bank I went to) doesn’t allow high schoolers to have a credit card!

I had to call them several times (I remember about 3) over and explain that I have actually graduated high school already and that they didn’t need to worry.

SO if you are anyone like me, born between April and September and going to Japan as an 18-year-old, in need for a credit card, just remember that this may happen and would take some time till you get your card published.
