二度寝が３時間くらい続く
おはようごさいます！
二度寝のプロ、ケイトです。
あっという間に暑くなってきた日々ですが、エアコンをつけるには流石に早いな…と悩んでいたのですが。
扇風機を導入したところ、急に人生の快適さが跳ね上がりました。
まぁリビング用に買われた扇風機を私が勝手に自室で使ってるんですけども。
暑くなってきたということは、夏が近づいてきているということです。
ということは、夏学期が半分ほど終わったということ。
そして秋学期（新学年）がどんどん近づいてきている！ということです。
それは…履修登録の合図…
まぁいうてそれは７月だから丸々１ヶ月くらい猶予あるんですけどね。
その間に授業の種類や日程を見てパズルが如く敷き詰めて、履修登録のサイトが開かれた瞬間、席が無くなる前に己をねじ込むという作業が待ち侘びています。
去年はなんの授業を選択するか物凄い悩んだ記憶があるんですけど、今年はもう少し簡単にできそうです。
なぜなら学部が決まったから！！！！！
大学にもよりますが、うちトロント大学は１年生が終わってからその成績をもって学部に応募して、今頃に合否が出ます。
去年はまだ学部も未定で、何を勉強したいかも正直決めきれてなかったから選択肢が無限だったんですよね。
でも今年はなんと第一志望だった学部に入れたので（ここ自慢ポイントです）、必修やらなんやらがあります。
あとは言語系の授業を一つ取りたいな〜とか、去年に比べたら段違いにビジョンが浮かんでいるので、きっと楽しく履修を選べるでしょう。きっと。

It’s getting hotter in Tokyo already as we approach June, so I’ve introduced a fan into my room.
If anyone’s struggling with room temperature I’d really recommend them. Fans are so useful.
They’re not as powerful and energy-consuming as ACs but windy enough to cool the room down.
Anyways, nearing summer means we’re halfway through the summer term.
And also means we’re getting closer to the beginning of autumn term 2021.
MEANING COURSE SELECTION.
Last year I struggled a lot with selecting my courses and it took FOREVER.
I really didn’t know what to take or what I wanted to major in.
Grades for the first year courses matter heavily with what major you get into- that is, for the University of Toronto, you would apply to majors after the first-year classes are over
And depending on the major (some don’t), there is a cut-off line for what grade you need to get for the prerequisite courses to even APPLY into the major.
Furthermore, for competitive courses, the major would accept students depending on prerequisite course grades, so it is really important to select your first-year courses according to the desired major and get good grades there.
Hence it was really hard for me to select courses without having a clear idea of what to major in.
But now that I’ve decided on what to major in, and gladly gotten accepted into the major, I have a better vision of what to take- hopefully I won’t take as long to choose my courses this year!!!
