シンガポールは本日も最高気温３０度

どうも、シンガポールからケイトです。
…やっぱり東京の方が暑い！！！！
本日のシンガポールの最高気温は３０度ですが、東京は３６度です。全然違いますね。
早速シンガポールの名物チキンライスを食べるためにホーカー（現地のフードコート）に行ったのですが、1年ぶりのチキンライスはちゃんと美味しかったです。何回食べてもチキンライスは最高ですね。ついでに現地のミルクティーは濃く出した紅茶にコンデンスミルクの味がして、個人的に大好きで、それも1年ぶりに味わえて嬉しかったです。
シンガポールは外食のレベルが平均的に高くて、値段も１食ガッツリ食べて５、６ドルくらいのものから幅広くあり、ふらっと食べにいけるのが本当に良い点だと思います。
日本からの飛行機は少しだけ遅延し、シンガポールに着陸した時間が午前１時前後でした。
この時間に空港からの帰宅にタクシーを使うと深夜料金＋空港料金で５割増近くになってしまい、とても高くつくんですよね。
そのため、私は配車アプリを使って帰りました。
配車アプリですが、基本的にはGrabを使用しています。
他にもTada、Gojekなどシンガポールでは普及しているけれど国外ではなかなか見ない配車アプリが多いです。逆にUberやLyftなど北アメリカで普及しているアプリはシンガポールでは使用出来ないので、要注意です。
シンガポールに来る前に、適切なアプリをダウンロードして設定しておくことをお勧めします。
ちなみに、このアプリに事前にクレジットカード情報も登録しておいた方がいいでしょう。
自分は前回アプリを使ってからアップデートが必須になっていて、そのまま空港で土壇場でアップデートしたところ、クレジットカード情報が一度消えてしまいしました。そして、気づかず乗車しました。
でもこれらは配車アプリであり個人タクシーなどではないので、車内でのクレジットカード決済が出来ないのです。
となるともう、現金、もしくはシンガポール版Paypalのようなアプリ（Paylahなど）を使用しないと支払えません。
これ、要注意。
私はカード払いが出来ず、コンタクトレス決済も設定しておらず、現金も持ち合わせておらず、深夜２時に大焦りすることになりました。
幸い運転手さんが優しく、スーツケースを人（荷物）質にし自室まで一度走って帰り、お金を持って帰ってこれたので無事支払えました。
でもこれでもし家に現金もなく、ATMも近くになかった場合、と考えるとゾッとしてしまいますね…

I’ve arrived in Singapore! …It is much cooler than Tokyo!
Singapore is a hot country right above the equator, and sure it is 30 degrees Celsius today, but in Tokyo, it’s 36 degrees Celsius today. Talk about climate change.
Since I landed here a few days ago, I have immediately gone to a hawker (local food court) to eat Singapore’s famous chicken rice, and after a year’s absence, the chicken rice was delicious. No matter how many times I eat it, chicken rice is always great In addition, I personally love the local milk tea, which tastes like condensed milk in a strongly brewed cup of tea, and that was great too.
Our flight from Japan was slightly delayed and we landed in Singapore at around 1 am.
If I used a taxi to get home from the airport at this time, the late-night fare plus the airport fare would put me around a 50% surcharge, which would be very expensive.
Therefore, I used a taxi hire app called Grab to get home.
There are many other car-dispatch apps such as Tada and Gojek, which are popular in Singapore but not as much outside the country. Conversely, apps that are popular in North America, such as Uber and Lyft, do not connect in Singapore, so be careful when you come to Singapore. I strongly suggest you download and set up the app before coming.
Incidentally, I also recommend that you also register your credit card information in advance with these apps.
Because I updated the app last minute at the airport, and my credit card information was lost, and I got in the car without realising it.
But these are dispatch apps, not private taxis, so you can’t pay by credit card in the car.
You have to pay in cash, or via some form of contactless payment app.
So just remember to prepare before you arrive!
