シンガポール移住

どうもケイトです。
新しい仕事場には馴染んでいるようで、まだ慣れないところもあります。
例えば今私は社用携帯と自分の個人携帯で２台持ちしているのですが、月曜から金曜までは主に社用携帯を、土日には主に個人携帯を触っています。そして個人携帯は平日の営業時間中は自動的に通知を切るようにしています。
となると、退勤後にパッと個人携帯を見ても友達からの連絡の通知を逃してしまって、週末まで気付けなかったり。
逆に、土日の間に仕事の連絡が入っても、数時間後まで携帯を触らず、気付けなかったりします。
どちらもこまめに確認する癖をつけないといけないですね。
話は変わりますが、先日新居への引っ越しがありました。
シンガポールに移住して2週間で引っ越しなんて変な話ではありますが、元々はこの新居の方にまっすぐ入居するはずだったんです。
ただ仕事の都合で予定より早くシンガポールに来ることになったため、家の契約が間に合わず、このような形になりました。
2週間の滞在の間はあまり物を増やしたり、完全に荷解きしないようにしていたのですが、どうしても食材やらティッシュやらで、元より荷物が増えちゃいましたね。最終的には、ギリギリタクシーに乗れる程度でした。
この大量の荷物も今週末の間に完全に荷解きを終えちゃいたいと意気込んでいたのですが、思ったより新居に収納が少なく、苦労しそうです。
来週末はIKEAにでも買い物に行こうかなぁ。まずは物干し竿、引き出し、お皿…
月曜からは新居からの出社ですが、当日は迷うことを加味して早く出社しないといけないですね。
こっちの路線、混んでないといいなぁ…

I’m settling into my new workplace, but there are still some things I’m not used to.
For example, I now have two mobile phones, my company phone and my personal phone, which I mainly use my company phone from Monday to Friday, and my personal phone on weekends.
And my personal mobile phone automatically turns off notifications during weekday business hours.
So, when only I take a quick look at my personal mobile phone after leaving work, I often miss notifications from friends and do not realise it until the weekend.
Conversely, if I get a contact from work during the weekends, I don’t touch my phone until a few hours later and don’t notice it.
I need to get into the habit of checking both frequently.
On a different note, I recently moved to a new house.
It’s strange that I’m moving two weeks after moving to Singapore, but originally I was supposed to move straight into this new place.
However, due to work commitments, I had to come to Singapore earlier than planned, so I couldn’t sign the house contract in time.
I tried not to buy too much stuff or unpack completely during my two-week stay, but I inevitably ended up with more luggage than I originally had because of foodstuffs, tissues, and more. In the end, I could just barely fit in a taxi.
I was rather determined to finish unpacking this weekend, but there is less storage space in the new house than I thought, so I’m going to have a hard time with that.
Maybe next weekend I’ll go shopping at IKEA. Clotheslines, drawers, dishes…
From Monday, I’ll be going to work from the new house, so I’ll have to leave the house early on the day, taking into account that I’ll get lost.
I hope the trains over here aren’t too crowded…
