The other day, I talked about how I had to take a bus and train for an hour to travel a straight line distance of about 20 minutes. But that’s not the only thing, because the bus is another problem.
\nSometimes, they just… decide not to show up!
\n<\/span>The bus that originally only comes once every 30 minutes, sometimes it just doesn’t come.
\n<\/span>Do you know how if you wait at the bus stop with Google Maps open, you will see a real-time update of how many minutes before the bus should be arriving?
\nIt gets closer and closer, but before you know it, it changes to \u201cdeparted 3 minutes ago”.
\nOf course, not a single bus has passed in front of me during that time.
\nNothing departed! Rain or shine, sometimes it just disappears suddenly.
\n<\/span>And since this bus is always late on the usual service, I have no way of knowing if the bus is simply delayed as usual, or the bus itself didn’t show up. It’s only after a few minutes that the notification is updated that I see it is considered “departed”, so I can only notice around the time when I should have been on the bus already.
\n<\/span>Which is super stressful when I’m trying to get to work on time!<\/span><\/p>\n

That being said, of course, there are good things about being in a little bit in the countryside. Like the supermarkets are bigger.
\nIn fact, the nearby supermarket is moderately large, with a deli section, a specialized cheese section, a bakery, and all that jazz,\u00a0which is a size that cannot be compared to the supermarket near my house in Toronto.
\n<\/span>One of my favourite features is the large fresh produce section.
\nSince it is almost my last time living in Canada, I am trying to\u00a0eat all\u00a0my favourite fruits to my heart’s content, and it is great.
\nIn particular, I am a fan of crispy white grapes, and crunchy apples like Honeycrisp, which are popular in North America but unfortunately not available in Japan. So I’m enjoying them while I can.
\nI can even also buy smoked salmon by weight regularly at a good price!
\n<\/span>The packaged smoked salmon that was available near my house in Toronto was very expensive for the quantity, so I am happy these days to be able to buy it now.<\/span><\/p>\n
