My moving out\u00a0from Toronto has been completed successfully in the end, and I am now slowly settling into my new home in Vancouver.
\nThe last time I came to Vancouver for a visit\u00a0was quite recent,\u00a0the summer of 2023, but I haven’t stayed here for\u00a0longer periods of time since I came here for summer school, all the way back to my\u00a0junior high school student days 8 years ago.
\nThis time, I plan to live here for a little less than two months, until my graduation ceremony at the University of Toronto, and do my best for my internship.
\n(By the way, it is a little bit far away from Vancouver but still in\u00a0British Columbia, but for the sake of clarity, I will continue to refer to this place\u00a0as Vancouver.)<\/p>\n

Since I’m here, I’d like to share about some of the differences between Toronto and Vancouver.
\nFirst, temperature and weather.
\nCompared to Toronto, it can be more “dreary and gloomy”.
\nIt has some really good sunny days too, of course!
\n<\/span>But on average it feels like the sky has many clouds, and quite often the sky can look as if it is going to rain soon, but it doesn’t rain and a day goes by. That kind of gloomy.
\n<\/span>In Toronto, it was a bit easier to understand: if it rains, it rains.
\n<\/span>I knew there was a lot of rain in this region, but I didn’t know there was also a lot of less-than-rain weather.
\n<\/span>Apparently, if you look at the numbers alone, the humidity should not be so different from Toronto, but to me it feels much less dry than Toronto.
\n<\/span>Or am I imagining things? Strange.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, prices are in fact, higher\u00a0in BC.
\nNot only for\u00a0eating out, but also when I go shopping, it feels like each food item is more pricy than I am used to seeing.
\nA personal indicator, but the price of bubble tea is also a little high on average. This is what bothers me the most.<\/p>\n

I currently live in a slightly rural and residential area, and the buses to the nearest bus stop come once every 30 minutes, which I think could be one of the most inconvenient areas I have ever lived in.
\nYou can’t get to the train station without taking the bus, so I have to do everything according to that 30-minute timetable.
\n<\/span>For example, the actual travel time could be only about 30 minutes, but due to the mismatch between buses’ schedules, I have to leave my house an hour in advance to make it in time.
\n<\/span>The further you get from the city centre, the more the infrastructure is designed\u00a0to live with a car.
\n<\/span>Hopefully\u00a0I don’t miss the bus and end up\u00a0late!<\/p>\n
