It’s not been the neatest week because I haven’t been able to get my assignments done as smoothly as I’d hoped, but I’ve had some great times going out for dinner with friends, going on overnight road trips with them and so on.<\/p>\n

You know, I’ve always wondered why people here, or rather people in Canada and the USA, willingly drive for ridiculously long hours in the name of a road trip.
\nI guess it’s just something they’re used to, but I wonder if their backs don’t get sore from being in a cramped car for several hours or days in a row.
\nAlso, why do some of these people dislike air travel while cars are fine?
\nPersonally, I think flying is easier because you can walk, eat and sleep whilst travelling.<\/p>\n

By the way, you can deposit cheques with your\u00a0mobile banking app in Canada. Did you know that?
\nAll you have to do is take a photo of the front and back of the cheque and enter the amount again in the app for confirmation. It’s super easy, maybe less than three minutes.
\nI only just found out about it last week, and I was so excited that I told a friend I met that night, and they were\u00a0extremely surprised as well.
\nLikely it’s because I don’t use cheques\u00a0very often, and maybe it’s something that other international students won’t know about either.
\nWhen I was in Singapore I had to deposit a cheque, but unfortunately there were no ATMs that could take cheques within walking distance for some reason and I remember having a hard time trying to deposit it, so it was a huge surprise how easy it was in Canada.<\/p>\n

Also, I was a bit shocked to realise that I had never thought it was possible to do it with a mobile phone app and had not researched the possibility for a long time. If I had just done one Google search about how to deposit a cheque earlier, I wouldn’t have had to spend so many days thinking about going to an ATM.<\/p>\n

If anyone has to deposit a cheque in Canada, don’t make the same mistake as me!<\/p>\n
