How is everyone adapting to the rapidly changing weather these days?
\nBecause I am struggling!
\nI’ve said this many times, but I have just not acquired the skills to “wear according to the weather”.
\nIt’s… so hard.<\/p>\n
There definitely are a few reasons why this is a problem for me.
\nLike how I had uniforms for the majority of my life, and you don’t need to think of anything when the clothes are finalised for you.
\nMaybe if I wanted to bring a cardigan or wear some leggings with my uniform I would, but there’s no more freedom than that.
\nAlso when you grow up in Singapore, there is no different “weather” to dress up for, it’s always the same every 365 days a year. Maybe even 366.
\nSo I never learnt the art of that, you know?<\/p>\n
I’ve gained some experience over these few years but it definitely hasn’t been enough.
\nThis has actually had a bigger impact on me than I\u00a0thought it ever would, because it has piled up to a point that it feels actually stressful that I have to choose what to wear every day.
\nThe biggest problem here is that because Toronto’s weather is so all over the place, and the weather like wind or direct sunlight\u00a0strongly affects the temperature, the\u00a0apparent temperature is constantly rapidly changing.
\nBut the weather forecast doesn’t capture that too well, so I have to stick my head out the window to feel the air to tell how the temperature feels like that day.
\nIf I prepare an outfit the last night, too many times have the temperature mislead me as to how warm or cold that day is.
\nSo I have to choose what to wear on the morning of that day.<\/p>\n
The thing is, I like being able to choose what to wear. On days out with friends, I get really excited to go through my wardrobe and dress up. But it’s just an extra chore when you’re dragging yourself from your bed to university and having to do it every day.
