everyone!<br \/>\nKate here.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been exactly a month since I moved to Canada, have settled in pretty well, and I just had my first in-person class today!! First in-person class in university, first time going onto campus, at my 2nd year.<\/p>\n<p>Did I enjoy it?<br \/>\nHonestly, nah, not really.<\/p>\n<p>After 1 whole year of studying from home, going out for classes felt like such a burden.<br \/>\nI got dressed to go outside so I was not in my comfy clothes, neither was my hair in a lazy messy bun nor did I have my fuzzy socks and a cup of hot tea. It felt so tedious to get ready to just STUDY when I could just stay home!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Meiryo, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSDisplay-Regular', 'Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro', 'Yu Gothic', 'MS PGothic', 'Segoe UI', Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.6rem;\">Also, the environment of the \u201cclassroom\u201d felt off too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are so many people around, many clicking of pens and keyboard typing noises, the professor has a mask on and can\u2019t hear them clearly, the presentation slides are so far in the front of the classroom and can\u2019t see very well.<br \/>\nI was so excited to go back onto campus but it was almost even funny how weird and unnatural it felt.<\/p>\n<p>The tutorial sessions for my elective language class was fun- it\u2019s only about 12 students and a TA, many group conversations and discussions, so I was engaged in the class. That was definitely worth going on campus for.<br \/>\nBut really, a lecture of just sitting down, listening and taking notes to the professor\u2019s PowerPoint slides for 2 solid hours felt like it would make no difference with online classes.<br \/>\nProbably lost all this sense of \u201cnorm\u201d to be on campus whilst class during the year in online classes.<\/p>\n<p>Who knows how it will be next term, or maybe next year or later when we go back into full in-person classes- if we ever get there, that is- because I\u2019m so sure that everyone is going to feel so
