So for a couple of months now, I’ve been on birth control pills due to my messed-up menstruation cycles. On another note, don’t you think the name “birth control” is misleading? It’s not only for controlling “birth”.<\/p>\n
Well, the problem is, these pills\u00a0are slightly- well, quite- annoying to get.<\/p>\n
This is based on my experiences, by the way. It’s probably super different depending on where you are.
\nFor the first few months, the doctor will only prescribe you 1 month worth of pills, so you need to get an appointment every month for a couple of consecutive months before they trust you and your body to be able to take it.
\nOf course, it’s for safety reasons; and makes total sense that the doctor needs to check up that the pills aren’t doing anything unexpected. It’s a strong medication that interacts with the body’s hormones and side effects can be drastic.
\nLike, have you seen the caution instruction papers that come along with the pills? That thing is a whole scientific report long.
\nBut it’s still a burden to get appointments to the doctor and wait notoriously long queues every month.<\/p>\n
ESPECIALLY if the doctor is far away from you.<\/p>\n

You can literally purchase birth control pills on campus.
\nThat makes it so so much easier than going over to a faraway hospital every month.
