I’m genuinely worried that my English is getting significantly worse over the summer.
\nThe last time I spoke English properly for a whole conversation is back in school, which is March, which is already 5 months ago. Since then, the only English I’ve been using is probably only during this blog.
\nHow does everyone deal with this? I’m sure all bilingual people face this problem.
\nLet’s hope I don’t fail too drastically when I get back into studying from Fall term…<\/p>\n
Talking about studies, UWC got the IB to do a lot of remarks recently on grades. There were several, not little comments from students, questioning why their IB scores had gone down when all years along it was never that grade. I thought it had only happened to me, and that my teachers must have been nice to me or something, but turns out it was a lot larger in scale than that. UWC threw a couple of subjects, so a whole G12 worth of grades for a remark, so I didn’t have to do it myself!<\/p>\n
If I was to ask for a remark myself, it would have taken about 100 dollars per subject. Although I had questions myself I was still wondering if it was worth it (because grades can go down after remarking, too). Good thing I didn’t have to pay, my grades did not go down, and now I have a better overall score!<\/p>\n
So has everyone done something fun and “summer”-ish this year?
\nAll the festivals and stuff have been cancelled sadly (due to COVID), and whilst I was rolling around on bed every day, summer went by very quickly.
