Who can believe it’s already June???<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Recently, I had an hour-long call with a girl a grade below me, that I had known since primary school.
\nThe call was mostly about university applications and stuff, and whoa I felt like a senior kid.<\/p>\n

After the call, it got me thinking about my own future and stuff.
\nI currently took double sciences for IB and will continue similar\u00a0paths for university.
\nBut it reminded me how she and I became friends by drawing, so we would get together often to draw comics and stuff.
\nDuring quarantine, I’ve been ever-so-slightly getting back to drawing again. I even took visual arts during secondary school. Not double sciences, but double arts- I did both visual arts and theatre.<\/p>\n

The main reason I did not continue with arts in IB was that, for 1, I wanted to take double sciences and the IB system can only allow either double sciences or arts,\u00a02, I was afraid\u00a0studying\u00a0arts as a subject could take over my passion for arts as a hobby,\u00a0and the largest reason 3, I simply did not like history.<\/p>\n

For me, learning history was a huge pain. Studying “arts” requires a lot of studying the past history of the subject, both visual arts and theatre, and working from past techniques. Exams are mostly history-based, I would even say. I simply could not bare history, so gave up on that.<\/p>\n

So what if I did not hate history so much? What if I got over that and continued my passion?<\/p>\n

I do not regret taking sciences at\u00a0all, and I am quite happy with where I am going.
\nBut it does make me wonder about a parallel myself, that\u00a0with that little decision on taking arts or sciences,\u00a0I maybe could have been super artsy by now and gone into the world of arts. Isn’t that interesting?<\/p>\n
