A TWITCH live stream.<\/p>\n Yeah, so the school didn’t know what to do, so a student volunteered to stream it on their twitch\u00a0gaming channel. But I definitely started laughing when the student started playing games on the stream after the assembly was over…<\/p>\n How is everybody doing in quarantine? With all the time I’ve been given, I’ve slowly started to recognise all the things I had left behind and all the things I have wanted to try.<\/span><\/p>\n For the past 2 years, my life was mostly waking up\u21e8school\u21e8homework\u21e8sleep routine, and I spent less and less time for myself. I just did not have the energy to try new time-consuming activities or continue anything of those type. I am comparatively, an extremely slow worker, so most of my time out of school was finishing work, doing new work, researching, revising, then falling asleep 3 seconds after laying in bed. So I never realised how much I put myself far from entertainment.<\/p>\n Example, I used to love reading. In primary school, I would borrow out 3~6 books each week and read them all. In secondary, I still read about at least a book per week. Recently, the only books I had read properly were IB English A Lang Lit books that I HAD to read, and I barely did I open books for my own enjoyment. To the point that I almost forgot reading was my hobby. “What’s your hobby?” is a rather common question in meeting new people, or making examples for literature tasks, but reading barely came up in my mind. I would always say listening to Japanese songs, knowing surely that none of them listened to Japanese songs, so I wouldn’t have to explain my boring life any further.<\/p>\n Now, I have slowly started to read again. From books that have been laying on my shelf since whenever that was, to researching some new books that I might want to buy after all the havoc calms down and shopping is allowed. I used to collect all the books from my favourite author, but I never bought her books\u00a0since 2018, so I have some to catch up on.<\/p>\n Other stuff includes some games I bought a long time ago and never came back to, to games I was always interested in but never had the opportunity to start. Trying time-consuming recipes that are not all microwaves and hot water. Contacting friends that I had not talked to in forever.<\/p>\n Last week, I called a friend and we talked for 2 full hours before feeling too sleepy. I was surprised to see that the last time I physically saw her was 3 years ago, and I found out so much about her life that had changed over the 3 years during the call. It also made me realise just how minimal I had been making my conversations, and that there is probably a lot more to find out about her and all my other friends.<\/p>\n Of course, I am worried about the current COVID situation and if I can go to university; if I have to think of anything else to do,\u00a0visa, all that.
